Do you feel like you’re never getting ahead at work?
Are you always “behind the 8 ball”?
Are you tired of conflict in your life?
Do you find yourself often saying “yes” to people or situations when
what you really mean is “no”?The Power of Daily Ritual
Incorporating daily rituals in your life can be the single most powerful tool you can use to create a foundation for success.
You would be hard pressed to find a successful person that does not participate in some form of daily ritual. For some, these rituals are spiritually based and others may describe them as daily habits.
Whatever you end up calling it for yourself is irrelevant. The important piece is to participate daily in a ritual of your choosing. Personally, I have found practicing a daily spiritual ritual has brought me closer to God, and has deepened my relationships with others.
Over the years, I have kept a journal. I have found this to be helpful especially when going through difficult times. About nine months ago, I was experiencing a challenging time in my life and decided to journal. Once again, the ritual proved to be helpful in a nurturing and centering way.
This time, however, instead of calling it journaling, I decided to call it “My Letter to God”. I write “My Letter to God” almost daily. The inner peace this practice has given me is immeasurable.
I am sharing how I write my letter to God with you, in hopes that you will become inspired to use this daily ritual to bring peace and comfort to your life. The benefits you realize by practicing this ritual are well worth the effort.
As you consider this, keep in mind my letter to God takes me at most twenty minutes per day. I prefer to write my letter in the morning before I start my day. By practicing this ritual in the morning, there is less opportunity for me to shrug it off and it allows me to start my day out in a state of gratitude.
Elements to include in your Letter to God:
1. A daily reflection of your current thoughts and feelings
2. A gratitude list of at least ten things you are grateful for in your life
3. A written prayer or message to God stating how you see your day taking shape. An example of this would be: “Today I am connecting to all those I meet in a loving and respectful way.” This section should be your way of setting a foundation of thought or prayer that will lead to the creation of a great day.
4. Give thanks to your “Higher Power” for all that he/she is in your life
You can choose to address your letter to any power that brings you comfort. Whoever you choose, it should be someone who creates a place of peace, love, comfort, and gratitude in your life, especially when you are unable to create it for yourself.
The most important objective of this practice is to begin your day in a state of love and gratitude.
Try it for 21 days and see how your life begins to change. If along the way you want to share your experience with this ritual, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact me at sandy@purepotentialcoaching.com or 802-985-8275
